Magical effects of Ginkgo Biloba and American Ginseng

Herbs are ordinary looking plants with extraordinary appeal. Aromatic and flavored, their medicinal value is phenomenal. China is one country which understood the significance of herbal plants and utilized them for traditional healing purposes.

Amongst the array of herbs available world over are Ginkgo Biloba Extract and American Ginseng. Both herbs are historically linked to China and even today, if used together, are very effective.

German scientists are credited with persistent research on Ginkgo Biloba in the country. In fact, Ginkgo is used as a drug in Germany. French too have done a lot of research on it.

For most of us these two names sound bizarre. But that is not to be. Ginkgo leaf extracts have proven to be effective in treating the elderly.  A powerful antioxidant, it improves blood circulation to the brain, enhances platelets and functioning of the nerve cells. It also enriches oxygen supply and boosts memory, concentration and other mental abilities. These extracts are also known to relieve headache, sinusitis, vertigo, ringing of the ear, depression and better long-distance vision.
While Ginkgo leaves are beneficial to mankind, the roots of American Ginseng are used as an immunity booster. This herb is efficiently used as a general tonic and stimulant mostly to fight flu and infection. Patients suffering from HIV/AIDS, insomnia, fever, hangover, cancer, joint pain, dizziness, memory loss, and dysentery have positively felt its healing touch.

A few cosmetics, soaps, oils and even soft drinks include American Ginseng as an ingredient. With widespread use this multipurpose root has been declared an endangered species in a few American states.
